Intelligent
I meet a new friend at Friendster, I quote this from her latest msg:
"hey i supposed you had your school abroad yeah?? can tell from your english, you can write well ! =) cos some of my friends here cant really write yet alone speak english !! so yeah just wonder what school or uni did u go to???"
To tell you the truth, I've never stepped my foot on any other country but Indonesia :P I've been studying English since the 5th grade of elementary school...quite a long time yeah? You know, when I read that she thought I had my school abroad...I was a little bit proud. Proud that I've shown a quality equal to the ones studying abroad. But somehow, I was sad...really. I was sad coz people often think that Indonesia's education is no good, or at least not as good as other countries. Yeah, I know..somehow, it's the truth. But I'd really like to see it change. Good education doesn't make people intelligent, intelligent people make education good (my original quote)...or at least that's what I think. So it's not about where or what school you go to, but what kind of person are you.
I've seen many of my friends who've studied abroad, Astralia, America, Canada etc...but their English is not even better than mine. Their pronouncations suck and all they can be proud of is just the name of the school they've gone to, not their intellegencia. On the other hand, I ve seen so many people who graduated from local schools or uni, but they have skills and levels of intellegencia more than the ones studying abroad. Peter the TrueGossiper is the perfect example of this kind of people. It's the quality of your brain that matters, not the quality of your school.
